Dyson and Hoover have had their last series of puppy shots. They outgrew their collars and are now sporting new ones. Dyson is still blue and Hoover is still red. They also needed larger food dishes! We continue to work with them walking on leash, Dyson on the left and Hoover on the right. At first they are so excited it is hard to listen to 'Heel', but once we have gone aways, they settle down and work well. Recently they have been introduced to 'Sit' and 'Stay' and use it around the time we feed them. They do very well with 'Sit' but 'Stay' is still a challenge. Our next lessons will be 'Down' and 'Fetch'. Hoover already practices returning a ball when it is thrown. This may be more difficult for Dyson because he doesn't seem interested in games.
When we decided to choose German Shepherds we agreed we wanted the largest of the liter and hoped they would grow to be large dogs. We choose Dyson because he was the largest of the liter and Hoover because he was the next largest (and because he seemed to choose us). When they had their final puppy shots they were also weighed. Here is their record. Dyson- @8 weeks 10.10lbs, @11 weeks 17.4 lbs, @15 weeks 30lbs, and @19 weeks 35.4lbs.
Hoover- @8 weeks 8.04lbs, @11 weeks 17.6 lbs, @15 weeks 30.8 lbs and @19 weeks 37.4 lbs.
We no longer have any doubts about having large dogs!
